Shoyeido

Kyoto, Japan

Shoyeido’s Daily Incense takes its names from Kyoto landmarks and seasons. Its blends include sandalwood, spices and resins.

Shoyeido traces its beginnings to Sasaya, established in Kyoto around 1705 during the Hoei era. This is the maker’s account of its craft history, not a present-company incorporation date.

Its production pages describe both a traditional Kyoto workshop and a modern plant. That distinction matters: we do not describe every stick as handmade, or assign an individual incense to a factory without evidence.

The Daily Incense collection describes blends of natural materials. Individual pages disclose selected ingredients rather than complete formulas. Moss Garden names sandalwood, patchouli and benzoin; Autumn Leaves names cinnamon and sandalwood. A flower in a title is not necessarily a flower in the blend.

Several incense come in different stick lengths, bundle sizes and boxes. The listings below preserve those differences. We have not transferred a burn time or price from one length to another.
